SV... You know how to put on a show! Now don't hate me for what i'm about to say but... We have a lot of snow. Sorry for everyone who is battling with little to no snow. SV would be too if it wasn't for the awesome storms we get coming up from Tahoe. (So thanks to y'all in the Far West Region).
Over the last two weeks myself and the other PG Team members have been reaping the benefits of decent snow, getting some solid training in before our next serious racing block, which begins in the New Year.

Most people i know in Australia go away for their Xmas/New Years break, and your local town becomes almost empty. Well not here! Excuse the exaggeration but half of Hollywood pop on down to SV, to ski the day and party the night away. Yesterday a little birdie told me Jamie Lee Curtis was in town, Arnold Schwarzenegger was vacationing in one of his many homes and Bruce Springsteen was holding a exclusive New Years Party at the local pub (Sadly for most, Invite Only!).
But who really cares about them? OK maybe i do a little... But there is something that is better than cashed up celebs doing normal activities.. College kids come home for Christmas, so that meant my main training partner from last year came home to SV. (Pictured above) Yay!

Last weekend i had my 3rd race set this season at Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This was a Junior Season Opener, so nothing to stress full just some racing practise, which i can always do with. On Friday i had a 5km classic Individual start, 2 laps. I was out there by myself for the race as i started 2nd and i passed the first girl at the 1km mark.. So i was a lone wolf, with only coaches around me! Despite the lonesome race i felt great and ended up getting 2nd in the U20 and 4th overall. Then on Saturday i had a 7.5km Skate Mass Start (3 laps). I have been trying to work on my distance results, as i have never been known to excel at much over 5km. But this race i thought i'd have a crack, i knew wasn't quite good enough to keep with the top 3 girls so i jumped in the chase pack and made my move away from that group on the 2nd lap. I am certainly happy that i broke away, because if i hadn't i would of been swallowed by the girls. So this made for another race basically by myself, with the chase pack 5-10secs behind, and the girls in front 5 seconds up. I ended up in 4th overall and 2nd in the U18. I'm defiantly happy with my results from the weekend, but theres always room for improvement.
Next up a small training block, until then "Train hard, Recover Harder"- Me :)
Kinda looks like we were skiing in a paddock in the photo, but Jackson was actually a really fun race course to ski on.
