My apologies for the lack of blogging since I’ve been back from America, I haven’t had too much to blog about, and I just been enjoying spending time with family and friends.
My second week back in Australia I had a Junior National Team camp in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) for a yearly testing camp. The purpose of yearly testing camps is to see how much you have improved over the year, although there are some variables it is usually quite accurate. This year I made some good gains, especially in my upper body strength, and overall I was pleased with my progress.

After the camp I had 2 weeks off serious training for my yearly break. Much needed I must add! Using this time to catch up with family and friends and to do some fun training, including Mountain Biking, running and a bit of strength.
I resumed my training last week, and I am fired up to begin my next season (which is lucky as its coming up very quickly…), which begins on the 27th of June.
On Thursday I attended Ski & Snowboard Australia Awards night, a really fun night to catch up with friends from other snow sport disciplines. The next morning involved a road trip down to Torquay to visit RoJo Outwear & Fisher Australia; I finally got to meet the amazing team there! They have been looking after me so well over the past year, and they sent me home with an amazing 2 of a kind jacket that may not be everyone’s “cup of tea” but it is “Me” in a jacket!

On Sunday Lake Mountain Alpine resort held the Victorian Roller Ski championships. After a good week back at training I was feeling pretty good, just a bit tired from the lack of sleep from the days earlier. It was a 10km up Lake Mountains main road. Suprisingly I pulled away up the last hill as I still had a bit of energy and ended up winning the Open womens. But the best part of the day was roller skiing in some amazing weather and catchig up with some teammates I hadnt seen in 6 months!
Coming up in the next few weeks I have a training camp in Mount Beauty and I’ll be heading over to New Zealand to visit my mum’s family in late may.
