After a draining 24hour flight with little more than 3 hours sleep, we arrived in the beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho! The home of potatoes, much to Casey's surprise all number plates quote "Famous Potatoes", and no I am not kidding!
We settled in on Friday night and training began the very next morning, much to the shock of our body clocks. As Casey has already explained in the blog below the session we took part in is a super fun but hectic adventure called "Save the baby King" in relation to the old Birkinbeiner tale. Of course being in America we took part in some crazy activities along the way including target shooting with BB guns, and bow & arrow shooting. Which may I add I shot the target the first try, surprising the coaches and myself.
In the following days since our first session we have had plenty of fun and hard work during training. On Tuesday we had a adventure run straight up the beautiful mountains of Sun Valley, there are no shortage of places to train here, and this is my 2nd season here! One thing i have struggled with is the altitude, after coming from Melbourne (basically sea level) to 2000m+ it was a slight shock to the system, along with the cold temps of -15 and bluebird days, it has been quite the change, but hopefully the body will acclimatise in the next week :) Until next time... Train hard, recover harder! https://www.facebook.com/katerina.nell?ref=hl
