Decorations are flying up everywhere in town, pretty fairy lights light up the night and the struggle of finding a car park anywhere in town is becoming real… Yes Christmas is here. Back home Christmas wasn’t huge in my family, we celebrated it but we never went “nuts”. So my second time around in SV I shouldn’t be overwhelmed with the American Christmas spirit, but I am. People go to town here, literally on Christmas spirit. SV has an amazing sense of community, from the locals to the celebs everyone gets amongst the good old vibes of Christmas!
One thing American’s can’t quite get their head around is the idea of Christmas day in Australia spent in swimwear and shorts. Something I secretly miss.
“Wait, so on Christmas day you go swimming or have a BBQ? So it’s not cold?!” (Insert American accent) I have been asked this on a number of occasions. Sometimes this is just too much for people to handle, but I guess you never see any movies about Christmas in summer. Nothing is more romantic than a summer Christmas movie, involving flies, extreme heat and burnt faces. Yeah that might be why Hollywood hasn't caught on yet..

It's hard not to love this beautiful place, even in SV it's not always sunny and sometimes i think about how good a real summer would be, but then i remember the heat waves in Australia of up to 110 fahrenheit and 45 Celsius, hmmm nah i'll pass on that for now!
Since the Bozeman Super Tour, i have been back in SV getting some more training done before my next set of races in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This next set is a IMD season opener, just for juniors. This will be my last race set until US Senior Nationals in Houghton! Stay tuned for the next blog post expected after the 21st of Dec. :)
Last year Jackson Hole was an interesting trip... Who knows whats in store for this year..
